Over the past week(s), the ministry leaders sat and met with different stakeholders on the Water Solar Project (WSP) that the ministry (OperationSAVE) will soon be implementing. The first meeting held was between those in charge of the WSP from the ministry and the contractors responsible for constructing the project. Also in attendance at this meeting was the ministry’s International Director, Marvin Tarlton. The discussion focused on finalizing the paperwork that will guide the project to its success. Meeting with Contractors As the project hopes to construct eight solar-connected boreholes in four different locations, the two teams visited these locations. The water project director, Rashid Umali, led the ministry’s co-managers, Jacques Jackson and Jeremiah Haleke, the USA Board Member, Tim Bonomo, the International Director, Marvin Tarlton, and zone leaders in visiting the different sites together with the contractors. The purpose of these visits was to review and approve the selected areas. Also in attendance were three Members of Parliament (MP), Hon. Ulemu Chilapondwa of Ntchisi South Constituency, Hon. Peter Dimba of Lilongwe South Constituency, and Hon. Sam Kawale of Dowa North East Constituency. The solar-connected boreholes will benefit people living in these areas led by the three MPs.
