Our Mission
Operation SAVE exists to spread the love of Jesus by meeting physical, spiritual, and cultural needs both locally in North Carolina and in Malawi, Africa through four main areas … Shelter • Agriculture • Vocation • Evangelism For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:35-40 KJV Our History In 2003, founding volunteers, Marvin Tarlton and Sam Helms in relationship with Hastings Jialosi (of Africa) were called by God to take their previous African missions to the next level. Each had been part of many other mission assistance programs, but none that prepared the villages for self-sufficiency after the mission team was gone. That was their vision. As plans for a trip began, Jimmy Funderburk and Paul Sachak joined the team. As the founding members prayed, God’s vision grew. The inaugural Mission Trip took place November 2004, traveling to Malawi, Africa. During this initial visit to Lilongwe, Malawi, hundreds of Africans in several villages and hospitals received much needed relief supplies thanks to generous supporters and volunteers from the US. In addition to paying water bills for villages, putting a new roof on a man named Samuel’s home and beginning construction of a Maize Mill, the very first distribution consisted of the following: 100-10 lb. bags of seed corn, 172-110 lb. bags of fertilizer, 500 bibles, 250 hymnals, 500 care packets-food & medicine, three suitcases of medicines, 50 Stethoscopes and two hand-dug wells, fitted with pumps. Praise God! The initial mission trip to Malawi was an overwhelming success and a life-changing experience for everyone involved. Missions4Jesus became incorporated in 2004 and received their 501c3 non-profit status in 2005. God’s vision continues to expand and provide resources for their projects year after year. The wheels of change are ever turning. Missions4Jesus formed a 501c Non-profit organization which is overseen by a Board of Directors. M4J has since grown and has a long-term VISION to continue to love and support our Malawian brothers and sisters in need. Mission teams travel to Lilongwe, Malawi yearly with much needed supplies and the love of Christ in their hearts. With God all things are possible! Movement in the Making In 2008 Missions4Jesus formed a subsidiary, Operation SAVE. … In 2017 we merged the two names and re-branded our Ministry, including a new website and logo design. The name Operation SAVE was officially incorporated in January 2017. Our website is www.operation-save.org. Jesus is still at the core of everything we do. We covet your prayers as our mission continues globally in Malawi, Africa and locally in North Carolina. Our Progress From our Humble beginnings in 2003 through 2021, following are just some of the Programs we have developed:
Our Vision “Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish; he eats for life.” That is the concept that started it all. These villages do not just need to be fed, they need a way to feed themselves tomorrow and the next day and the day after. They do not just need clothing for today; they need a plan for the future. It does take a village to raise a child. A boy becomes a man. A man becomes a leader. We want the people of Malawi to have the means, skills, and knowledge to grow and flourish. Through the Operation Save Ministry, their world is changed. We continue to make a difference. You can be a part of the solution, part of the vision that will change a village forever! Come share our Vision! Mission Statement Our mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ while providing food, clean water, shelter, medical supplies, educational assistance, vocational skills, and resources necessary for the poor to become self-sufficient. We are committed to the wise stewardship of all funds entrusted to us as well as following God’s direction for continued growth and success of all our Mission’s Projects, wherever God leads. Doctrine Statement Operation Save believes the Bible is God's Holy Word and it is without error.

Testimony of Pastor Jeremiah Heleke, Deeper Life Bible church “Through material support from Operation SAVE like messengers, proclaimers, salvation bracelets and dolls, blankets, care-packs and provision of clean water, we have freely reached over 32,000 people in our area and planted four churches. We have also established bible study groups in these locations. Preaching the Gospel has been easy through Operation SAVE support. This has also helped the church to reach holistic information programs in remote areas in partnership with the Government. We are now able to reach the high authorities in the district. We have also benefited in Theological Seminary where 4 Leaders from our church are being trained with financial support of Operation SAVE. |
